The Mektebi book

How Mektebi works, what it promises your mosque and families, and how it keeps each mosque's data apart.

Mektebi 1.3

What Mektebi is

Mektebi helps a mosque run its mekteb. The mosque and its muallims publish the teaching, and the platform only hosts it.

Your data stays yours

Each mosque's data is kept apart from every other mosque. The mosque decides about its data, and FETOSOFT hosts it on the mosque's behalf.

People and roles

One login can hold several roles at a mosque: admin, muallim, student and parent. Each role sees only what it needs.

How teaching is organised

How a mekteb's teaching fits together, from school years, levels and groups to courses, lessons, attendance and grades.

Languages

Mektebi speaks six languages: English, German, Albanian, French, Italian and Romansh. Each person chooses their own, and Romansh readers see German where a text is not yet available.

Apps and updates

The Mektebi apps for iPhone, iPad and Android show the live website, so most updates reach everyone at once without installing anything.

Messages, notices and emails

How people write to each other in Mektebi, what arrives as a notification or an email, and how each person can switch kinds off.

AI features

Mektebi works with the AI tool you already use, such as Claude or ChatGPT. The help connector shares only the public guides; the Course Assistant helps muallims build draft courses and never sees data about students or families.

Security and privacy

How Mektebi protects the data of mosques and families, what you can do yourself to keep your account safe, and which rights you have.

Versions and what's new

Mektebi has one version number for the website and the apps, a short What's new sheet that shows once per version, and an email for mosque admins.

The privacy policy and the data processing agreement are the binding texts. This book explains them in plain words; where they differ, they apply.
