# School years

Groups, class times and attendance belong to a school year. Create the year, check its dates, and start the next one in summer.

A mekteb usually runs from September to June. Your levels, rooms and courses stay from year to year. Groups, class times and the children's places belong to one school year.

## Create a school year

1. Open **Mekteb plan** and tap **All years**.
2. Tap **New school year**.
3. Enter a name, for example "2026/27".
4. Set the **Start date** and the **End date**.
5. Tap **Create**.

If you have no school year yet, **Mekteb plan** shows a **New school year** button that does the same.

## Change the dates

Open the year from **All years**, tap **Edit**, change the dates and tap **Save**. Class times need a start and an end date.

## Which year is current

Mektebi opens on the current school year. To change it, open **All years**, open the menu **Actions** next to the year you want and choose **Make current**.

## Start the next year

At the end of the year, open **All years**, open **Actions** next to the current year and choose **Start next year**. Mektebi guides you through it and keeps your levels, rooms and courses.
