# Levels

Levels are the stages of your mekteb, for example Elifba, Qur'an reading and Tajweed. You set them once; each year children are placed in them.

## Add a level

1. Open **Levels** in the menu, under **Settings**.
2. Tap **New level**.
3. Give it a name, for example "Elifba". You can add the name in other languages too.
4. Choose **How children learn**: **In a group**, **Alone** or **Individual and in a group**.
5. Choose **How we mark progress**: **Grades**, **Done or not yet** or **No marks**.
6. Tap **Create**.

## Change or remove a level

Tap a level to open it, change what you need and tap **Save**. A level that is still in use can't be deleted; Mektebi tells you what still uses it.

## What a level covers

Open a level and choose **What it covers** to list its lessons, surahs and texts in teaching order. Teachers use this list to record each child's progress.
